For a woman in her 70s, what hormone levels would be reasonable for her to have from HRT ,,,,estradiol, progesterone, testosterone. Is it really preferable to emulate a menstrual cycle with the Wiley protocol, even if the woman has had a hysterctomy?

Idelle, Good question. The body requires vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbs, fats, water, air, sunshine, exercise, sleep, etc. to survive. One cannot replace one for the other. Once a woman goes into menopause, she has barely any estrogen and progesterone (both hormones). If she's had her ovaries removed, then she is most likely lacking testosterone too. Nothing can replace these hormones except for hormones themselves...no matter how old she is. And, there are receptors for these hormones everywhere in the body, not just the uterus...so whether or not she's had a hysterectomy doesn't matter. Anything but reproducing the hormone rhythms and cycles that the body would be producing naturally if it could...is making up a new hormone state for humans. All this being said, I know it's a new concept for many doctors and patients and can be quite shocking until it's understood. I hope that helps.

Hi Carla, I believe menopause does require hormone replacement therapy, just like any other hormone deficiency. That being said, you don't want to take hormone pills because they are digested in the liver and this increases blood clotting and inflammation, which increases the risk of blood clots and stroke. Look for a doctor who knows how to prescribe the Wiley Protocol.
